Kilimanjaro Balloon Safaris

Pre-Dawn Preparation
Your adventure begins before sunrise with a gentle wake-up call and transfer to the launch site. Here, you'll watch as the massive balloon is inflated while enjoying hot coffee and tea. As the first light appears, you'll board the spacious basket with your pilot and 8-15 other passengers, ready for takeoff.

The Flight Experience
For approximately 60 minutes, you'll drift silently at treetop level and higher elevations, following the wind's path across the Serengeti. From this unique perspective, you'll witness wildlife going about their morning routines undisturbed. Watch as wildebeest herds move across the plains, spot giraffes grazing on acacia trees, and observe predators from a completely new angle. The silence of balloon flight allows for incredibly intimate wildlife viewing.

Champagne Breakfast in the Bush
After a smooth landing, you'll be transferred to a scenic location in the bush for a full cooked breakfast. The celebration includes a traditional champagne toast and certificate ceremony commemorating your flight. This luxurious bush breakfast often becomes a highlight of the entire safari experience.

Morning Game Drive
Following breakfast, you'll embark on a game drive back to your lodge or camp, maximizing your wildlife viewing opportunities during the active morning hours. Many balloon safaris also include a dedicated guide to provide detailed information about the animals and ecosystems you observed from the air.
